BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University, currently tied for third in the Southland Conference standings, heads across the border to meet with McNeese Sunday at the Cowgirl Soccer Field. This match kicks off at 1:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Cardinals earned three points in the standings by defeating Southeastern Louisiana, 1-0, on Thursday at the LU Soccer Complex.
Lauren Fincher scored the goal off an assist from

LAUREN SMITH POINT STREAK AT FIVE
Smith's assist Thursday means that she has had five consecutive games in which she has tallied one point. She currently is the only Cardinal to have double-digit points with 24 (10 goals, four assists), which also puts her in first place on the conference leaderboard.
TOURNAMENT PICTURE
The Cardinals (5-5-4, 2-1-3 SLC) are tied for third with nine points along with Stephen F. Austin (4-3-8, 2-1-3 SLC). Ahead of both teams are Northwestern State (8-3-3, 3-1-1 SLC) and East Texas A&M (5-5-4, 2-0-4), who both have 10 points in the conference. UIW (4-4-3, 2-1-2 SLC) trails LU by one point in fifth.
SHUTOUT NO. 30
Big Red's 1-0 win over SLU was the third shutout of the season and 30th during the
Nathan Kogut era. This trails only Steve Holeman (2016-21), who coached the Cardinals to 40 shutouts.
ALL-TIME vs. McNEESE
Lamar holds the edge over the Cowgirls, 10-6-1 entering the 18th meeting between the two teams. The Cardinals are 7-1-1 in the last nine meetings, including a five-match undefeated streak. Last season,
Cena Carlson scored the winning goal on a penalty kick to give LU a 2-1 win.
ABOUT MCNEESE
McNeese picked up its second conference victory by shutting out UT Rio Grande Valley, 1-0, with a goal from Florencia Saavedra. Karlyn Judge picked up the assist while goalkeeper Celeste Masijnissen posted four saves.
