BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University bolsters its roster with addition of Arina Gudovskaya announced head coach
David Wong Friday afternoon. A native of Moscow, Russia, Gudovskaya brings the Cardinals signing class to five as Big Red prepares for the start of a new season.
"Arina is a highly talented player and we feel very fortunate to sign her," said Wong. "We're looking forward to what she will do on the court for us in the future. She will be a great fit with not only our returning players but also the other newcomers we're bringing in."
One of Russia's top junior players throughout her career. Gudovskaya has been ranked among her nation's top 10 as a U12, U14 and U16 player. A versatile athlete, she is also a standout on the doubles court winning multiple ITF doubles tournaments.
Going with a youth movement, the Cardinals will enter the 2004-25 season with a young, talented roster. Junior
Megan Do will serve as the squad's elder statesman.
