Women’s Tennis Adds Three to Roster

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University strengthened its roster with the addition of two signees and one transfer Tuesday afternoon. Luana Paiva (Salvador, Brazil) and Emma Palus (Jacksonov, Poland) signed National Letters of Intent to continue their education and play for the Cardinals, while Savannah Bijlsma is transferring from Fresno Pacific.

The Cardinals new trio of athletes not only bring a high level of international experience to Lamar's roster but each bring a wide range of skills and should have an immediate impact on the lineup.

"I'm very excited to announce three new athletes to our roster," said Wong. "In addition to their high level of talent they bring with them all three should help us in both singles and doubles. Savannah has a bit of an experience advantage with her year at Fresno Pacific but I believe all three players will make an impact for us as we get set for a new season."

The additions come at the perfect time for LU who graduated two four-year players during the spring – Jayci Wong and Elena Rubio.

The three new additions bring the Cardinals signing class to four joining Asta Miettinen (Finland) who signed with Big Red in November.
