BEAUMONT, Texas - Continuing to add an infusion of talent for the upcoming 2024-25 women's basketball season, Lamar University head women's basketball coach Aqua Franklin is welcoming in former Redlands Community College player Isabella Stafford to the program. This is the third transfer the Cardinals are adding to the squad after LU added Justice Ross and Kelliah Walker earlier this month.

Isabella Stafford - 5'8, G, Conroe, Texas (Conroe HS/Redlands CC)
Stafford comes to Beaumont after spending the last two seasons with the Cougars. The Conroe native is coming off a sophomore season where she averaged 14.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game.Â
Prior to Redlands, Stafford was a core member for Conroe High School leading them to the playoffs all four years, including a 25-8 record as a senior. In her final season, Stafford averaged 10.3 ppg and 5.2 rpg, which got her named 13-6A Offensive Player of the Year and first team all-district and all-county honors while being selected as part of the TABC All-Region squad. She plans to major in kinesiology while on campus.Â
"I would like to welcome Bella and her family to Boomtown," said Coach Franklin. "She brings size, versatility and depth to the program. Our staff worked extremely hard to identify areas in need of improvement and we feel this recruiting class will help us be deeper than ever before."
