Cardinals Host Ragin’ Cajuns, Travel to UIW

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University has added a match to the schedule. In addition to their Southland Conference match at UIW Saturday, Lamar will also host UL Lafayette Wednesday. The Cardinals enter the week looking to move back above the .500 mark on the season.

It has been a tough week as Lamar has dropped three consecutive matches, a stretch that followed a small win streak for LU. The Cardinals will now look right the ship Wednesday with a noon match against UL Lafayette. The Ragin' Cajuns are 5-8 (.385) on the season. ULL has dropped five of its last six contest with the lone victory during that stretch being a 4-3 victory over Appalachian State.

The Cardinals are 7-9 (.438) all-time against UL Lafayette, but the two schools haven't played since 2015. The Cardinals have won four straight in the series.

Following the match against UL Lafayette, the Cardinals will travel to San Antonio, Texas to face UIW. San Antonio's version of the Cardinals are 6-11 (.353) on the season and sit just one win ahead of Big Red in the conference standings. UIW has split its last four matches and is coming off consecutive losses (New Orleans and at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi).

Lamar leads the all-time series against UIW, 6-2, and has won two of the last three meetings. Saturday's match will begin at 1 p.m. in San Antonio.
