Cardinals Struggle in Regular Season Finale

| By:
Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Lamar University could not find its rhythm Wednesday dropping a 7-0 decision at UTSA. The loss drops LU to 9-14 (.391) ahead of the Southland Conference Championships beginning April 18th in San Antonio.

The Roadrunners took the doubles point but it came only after the duo of Jayci Wong and Saloni Tamang battled UTSA's Magda Tuells and Milica Milosavljevicto a 12th game. Unfortunately, UTSA snagged the last two games to put the final touches on the points.

UTSA open singles play on a run taking the first set on each court, but Tamang again put up a fight forcing a third set at No. 6 singles. After Tuells grabbed the opening set with a 7-5 decision, Tamang won the second set, 6-4. The two played a super tiebreak third set that saw Tuells hold on for the 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 decision.
