FRISCO, Texas - The Southland Conference unveiled its Spring 2023 Commissioner's Honor Roll, which included 1,269 student-athletes from 11 sports and 10 institutions. Lamar University finished with 120 student-athletes receiving the honor.
To be eligible for the Southland Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student athlete must have earned minimum grade-point average of 3.00 or higher in the semester and have been eligible to compete in a conference sport during the semester.
In total, LU had 75 student-athletes with a 3.5 GPA or higher, including 35 that recorded a 4.0 GPA. Baseball had the most members named with 32 selections. Basketball had a combined 12 members between the men (eight) and women (four). Both golf teams had seven members while 14 members came from the softball team. Sixteen members made up the men's (seven) and women's (nine) tennis squads. The track and field teams composed of 32 selections on the honor roll.
