Cardinals Land 155 on Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll

FRISCO, Texas - Lamar University had 155 student-athletes recognized on the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, as announced by league officials Monday morning.  In total, the SLC had 1,549 student-athletes from 12 different institutions in the varsity sports of men's and women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track and field.

To be nominated for the Commissioner's List, student-athletes had to (1) maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average throughout the semester and (2) be eligible to compete in a conference sport during the 2024-25 season. Of the 155 student-athletes, the Cardinals had 101 post a 3.5 or higher and 43 with a 4.0. 

The track and field teams combined for 60 student-athletes with 36 coming from the women and 24 from the men. Baseball had 30 student-athletes while 20 of the softball roster were honored. Both basketball teams combined for 14 student-athletes with nine women and five men. Fifteen student-athletes came from the golf teams (eight men, seven men) while 16 were on the tennis teams with nine men and seven women.
