Tennis Returns to action Saturday

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – The suddenly hot Lamar University women's tennis returns to action Saturday looking to extend its win streak. The Cardinals will host Dillard (La.) University Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Complex.

After dropping four of their first five matches, the Cardinals have suddenly become one of the league's hottest teams. Lamar has won consecutive matches and four of their last five to move to .500 (5-5) on the season.

The Dillard Blue Devils make their way to the Golden Triangle representing the Southern States Athletics Conference. The Blue Devils are a match over .500 on the season and enter the week with a 3-2 (.600) overall record but will face McNeese Friday afternoon before traveling to Beaumont.

Saturday's match will mark the first time the two schools have met in women's tennis.

The contest against the Blue Devils opens a three-match homestand that will have the LU host Prairie View A&M in a doubleheader Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m. at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Complex.
