BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University's women's tennis team (1-3) will look to get back in the win column Saturday as they travel to Houston Saturday to take on UTSA. The match will be played at the Houston Country Club.
 
The Cardinals have split their last two matches defeating Sam Houston in a thrilling contest that came down to the wire with LU pulling out a one-point victory but suffering a tough outing at North Texas.
 
UTSA is 2-2 on the season but playing some of their best tennis recently having won their last two matches. The Roadrunners have defeated UTEP and New Mexico State both at home during that stretch.
 
Former Southland Conference foes, the Cardinals and Roadrunners have met 27 times in series history with UTSA owning a 17-10 (.630) record, with only two of those meetings being on a neutral court. Fourteen of the previous contests have come as conference opponents.
