BEAUMONT, Texas - To prep for the upcoming 2023 fall season in hopes to repeat as Southland Conference champions, Lamar University's soccer team will have a six-game spring schedule from March through April to test LU's 2023 squad. There will be two home games at the LU Soccer Complex as well as four road contests.
The Cardinals will open their spring season at home on March 4th against Angelina College (2 p.m.). Then on March 25th, LU will travel to College Station for two 60-minute contests against Texas A&M (1 p.m.) and Baylor (3 p.m.). Big Red then returns home to take on Blinn College (4 p.m.) on Apr. 7th before ending their season with two road games against Rice (4/16) and Houston (4/22) both of which will start at 2 p.m.
"I am very excited to see the 2023 squad begin to build towards our fall championship season with 6 quality matches," said head coach Nathan Kogut. "We have 4 really good road games that will test our team, and 2 home games that will give our fans a chance to see the beginning of what we hope is another championship year. Our girls have been working hard all offseason and I am looking forward to seeing them perform against good opposition."
