Box Score ABILENE, Texas – It was a tough outing for the Lamar University women's tennis team Sunday dropping a 4-0 decision to New Mexico Sunday morning in Abilene. The loss drops Lamar to 3-5 (.375) on the season.
 
The Lobos picked up wins on courts 1 and 2 doubles for the first point of the match. The contest at No. 3 doubles was a close battle that saw Jayci Wong and Saloni Tamang take UNM's No. 3 duo to task building a 4-3 advantage, but the match was halted when the doubles point was decided.
 
The Lobos held the advantage in the transition to singles as UNM's Satoho Toriumi defeated the Cards' Megan Do in straight sets to take a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, New Mexico held on winning the next two courts to finish, and the match was halted after the fourth point.
 
The Cardinals return to action Tuesday went they host Southern Mississippi. The match will start at noon from the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Courts.
