BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's tennis team will look to close out the fall season with a strong showing at the George E. Fourmaux Invitational in Hammond, La. Hosted by Southeastern Louisiana, the two-day, individual-format tournament will begin Saturday with final round matches taking place Sunday.
The George E. Fourmaux Invitational will be the final fall tournament in what has been a busy early season schedule for the Red and White. The fall finale serves as the team's seventh tournament in a calendar that opened during the first week of September.
The tournament will include SLU, Lamar, Dilliard, Louisiana Christian and LSU-Alexandria. The Cardinals will be sending newcomers
Nouray Metwally,
Martina Alcaino,
Natalia Turczuk and
Marika Mueller to Hammond.
Matches are currently slated to begin at 9 a.m., but the tournament schedule could be altered to adjust for the colder temperatures expected in Hammond this weekend.
