Cardinals Announce Basketball Game Times

BEAUMONT, Texas – While the start of the basketball season is still several weeks away, Lamar University has released its game times for the 2022-23 conference season. The Cardinals will play all doubleheaders in league play this season with weeknight games slated to begin at 7 p.m., and Saturday games slated for a 6 p.m. start. There will be a minimum of 30 minutes in between men's and women's games.
 
The only change to that schedule will be Saturday, Dec. 31st, when the Cardinals will tip off against McNeese at 4 p.m. All home games for the Cardinals will take place at the Montagne Center and will be broadcast live on Newstalk 560 KLVI and streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Head coach Alvin Brooks is entering his second season with the team. It will be a new look Cardinals' squad in 2022-23. Big Red enters the season with 10 new players, including four junior college transfers.
 
Big Red will host North American in an exhibition game Wednesday, Nov. 2, before tipping off the regular season five days later against St. Thomas.
