Cardinals Struggle Against Abilene Christian

Box Score STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Lamar University women's tennis team returned to Western Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon – their first league match in two weeks – facing Abilene Christian in a neutral-site match (Stephenville, Texas), but the Cardinals struggled to find their rhythm. LU dropped a 7-0 decision Saturday afternoon to the Wildcats.
 
The Wildcats managed to grab the early lead by taking victories on courts 1 and 3, respectively. After taking the doubles point, the Wildcats never looked back. ACU held the momentum rattling off consecutive wins on courts 1, 2 and 3 to solidify the overall team victory.
 
The Cardinals (9-9/0-3 WAC) return to action Sunday when they take on Stephen F. Austin. The match against the Ladyjacks will begin at 9 a.m. from Stephenville, Texas.
