Box Score HOUSTON, Texas – Lamar University's five-match win streak came to a close Thursday afternoon in Houston. The Cardinals dropped a 4-0 decision to a very talented University of Houston squad at the Chancellor's Family Tennis Center.
 
The Cardinals entered Thursday knowing it was going to be a tough battle but it was made even more so after injuries thinned out the ranks. Unlike most matches, Thursday's contest started with singles competition due to a venue chance (indoors) brought on by the weather.
 
The Cougars picked up the first victory of the afternoon on court No. 4 followed by a straight-sets decision at No. 2 singles. Unfortunately, Big Red was unable to stop the momentum, as the Cougars held on for the 4-0 victory.
 
The Cardinals return to action when they return home to host New Mexico. The match against the Lobos will begin at 11 a.m. from the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
