BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University's women's soccer team is off to their most historic start in program history. At 9-0-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play, the Cardinals are now ranked among the best in the nation. For the second week in a row, they are ranked seventh in the Midwest Region of the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAADI Women rankings.
 
LU has been ranked in the regional top 10 for six consecutive weeks. They first arrived ranked ninth and two weeks later, they moved up to eighth. Then last week, LU was placed in the seventh spot, which they currently hold onto entering this week.
 
Of the 10 teams ranked, LU is the only undefeated team on this list. They are currently ranked ahead of Kansas (8th), Oklahoma (9th) and Missouri State (10th). TCU is currently ranked first overall followed by Texas, Oklahoma State, Buffalo, West Virginia, and Texas Tech.

LU will be hosting Northwestern State this Friday night at the LU Soccer Complex. Kickoff will be at 7:00 PM
