Women’s Tennis Back in Action Sunday

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – After having a conference match postponed Friday due to rain in the area, the Lamar University women's tennis team will be back in action Sunday when they host Southeastern Louisiana. The match is slated to begin at 11 a.m. from the Thompson Family Tennis Center.

The Cardinals (4-3/1-1 SLC) have split their last four matches but are coming off a tough 6-1 loss at Central Arkansas. Big Red is currently locked in a logjam in the middle of the league standings – tied for sixth overall just a loss back of New Orleans in the standings.

Southeastern Louisiana comes to Beaumont 3-6 (.333) overall, a game back of LU with a 1-2 (.333) overall record. The Lions enter the Sunday showdown looking to right the ship having dropped three of the previous four matches, including consecutive contests to Abilene Christian and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The Cardinals trail in the all-time series to SLU, 10-14 (.417), which included a 4-9 (.308) record against the Lions in Beaumont. LU head coach David Wong has flipped the script on the Lions recently having won three of the previous four meetings, which includes a 4-3 victory last season prior to the shutdown.
