STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Lamar University Volleyball team returned to the road, as they travelled to Stephenville for their first ever matchup against new a WAC competitor, the Texans of Tarleton State University. The Lady Cards dropped the game 3-1 against the Texans, (25-15, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20). LU recorded 50 Kills to Tarleton's 49, but were hurt by the 21 errors made, leaving them with an attack percentage of .173. Tarleton came away hitting .224 for the contest.
Individually,
Paige Dugan came out on top for the Cardinals recording 18 kills, with
Amber Johnson and
Kaitlyn Gil, both finishing the night with 10 kills each. Gil recorded two aces, while
Sam Swayze and
Paige Dugan each recorded an ace.
Tytiana Johnson led the team with four blocks. The Cardinals were led in assists by
Hannah Waters (23) and
London Hatch (18).
Giselle Santini posted a team-high32 Digs, with Waters recording 11, and Dugan 10.
Next on the schedule for the Cardinal Volleyball team is a trip to Abilene, Texas for a matchup with Abilene Christian University. The match is due to start at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Teague Center. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
