BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University softball returns to the friendly confines of the LU Softball Complex this Friday and Saturday when they host Abilene Christian University in Southland Conference action.

March 8 - LU vs. Abilene Christian, 4 p.m.
March 8 - LU vs. Abilene Christian, 6 p.m.
March 9 - LU vs. Abilene Christian, 1 p.m.
 
Along with watching Cardinal Softball, LU Junior Cardinals get free admission with their badge and we have dollar hotdogs and two-dollar popcorn tubs.

About Abilene Christian
The Wildcats enter this weekends contest with the Cardinals with a 6-10 overall record. Abilene Christian is coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Wildcat Invite, which was cut short because of weather. ACU last game was a 9-2 victory over Maine.
 
At the plate, the Wildcats are led by Kayla Keeling who leads the team in batting average, triples, home runs and RBIs. She is hitting .340 (17-for-50) on the season with three home runs, two triples and driven in 10 runs. Blair Clayton is tied with Keeling with 10 RBIs on the season
 
In the circle, Samantha Bradley leads the team with 57.1 innings pitched on the season. Opponents are hitting .293 off her and she has an ERA of 4.71 on the season. She has appeared in 15 contests, while making five starts.
 
As a team, the Wildcats are hitting .252 with 44 extra base hits. They have an on-base percentage of .335 and are 27-for-30 in stolen bases. In the circle, ACU has a team ERA of 5.13. Opponents are hitting .300 on the season against the Wildcats with 43 extra base hits.
 
What's Next
The Cardinals return to on Wednesday, March 13 when they travel to Ruston, Louisiana to face Louisiana Tech. The single game is set to start at 5 p.m.
