NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Lamar University women's tennis team (3-8/0-1 Southland) was on the team van headed from Little Rock, Ark. to Natchitoches, La. Saturday morning when they were informed their match Sunday at Northwestern State has been postponed due to expected rainy weather in the area. No makeup date has been set at this time.
 
The match was meant to be the Cardinals second Southland Conference contest of the 2019 season after opening the year against Central Arkansas Friday. It would have been a tough haul for a young squad having to play the two matches in just under 48 hours.
 
The Cardinals are coming off a 5-2 setback against the Bears, that saw LU have a chance for the overall victory but come up just short in singles play. The Cardinals will be back in action Friday when they return home to host Southeastern Louisiana. The match against the Lions will kick off a five-match homestand.
