BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University returns to action looking to make it two in a row in Southland Conference play. The Cardinals (4-9/1-2 SLC) will host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday in the second of a four-match homestand.
The Cardinals have split their last four matches and are coming off a 4-3 victory over rival McNeese Sunday. When Big Red steps on the court it will be looking for its second two-match win streak of the season.
The Islanders got off to a great start on the season but have split their first two Southland Conference matches. Winners of two straight and four of their past five, the Islanders lone league setback was a 4-3 decision against Northwestern State. A&M-Corpus Christi is coming off a 4-2 victory over UT Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg.
For the Red and White, Saturday's match will be the second of a four-match homestand before they hit the road for four straight to close out the season. The Cardinals will also see Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State on the current homestand but will have nearly two weeks to prepare for those matches.
Saturday's match will begin at 1 p.m. from the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
