Cardinals Travel to Texas A&M

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's tennis team returns to action Wednesday when it travel to College Station, Texas to face No. 34 Texas A&M. The match against the Aggies is slated to begin at 2 p.m. from the Mitchell Tennis Center.

The Cardinals enter the mid-week match looking to right the ship after dropping two straight and five of their last six matches. The Cardinals are coming off a 6-1 setback at Incarnate Word Sunday in San Antonio.

The Sunday match was the team's fifth consecutive on the road, and serves as the midway point of a stretch that has the Red and White away from the Thompson Family Tennis Center for eight of nine.

The Aggies (12-4) will take a break from Southeastern Conference action to take on LU. Texas A&M enters the Wednesday showdown having won two straight following victories over Missouri and Arkansas.

The Aggies hold a 6-3 (.750) lead in the all-time series, including a 5-1 record in matches played in College Station. Wednesday's match will be the first meeting between the two programs since the 1988, when A&M recorded a 7-2 victory.

The Cardinals will be back in action Sunday when they host Central Arkansas. The match against the Bears will begin at noon from the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
