Box Score NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Lamar University Cardinals didn't get off to the start they wanted in Southland Conference play this weekend, dropping a 7-0 decision to the host Northwestern State Lady Demons on Saturday, as Northwestern State swept the three-game series.
The Cardinals (11-12 overall, 0-3 Southland), who dropped 4-2 and 7-2 decisions to Northwestern State on Friday, were limited to just three hits Saturday.

Kendall Talley each had a single for the Cardinals, who stranded seven runners on the day.
Northwestern State starter Micaela Bouvier pitched four innings of no-hit ball before being lifted. Bouvier (7-1) walked one batter. Mikayla Brown pitched three innings of shutout relief to seal the win.
Cayla Jones went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs to lead Northwestern State (15-7, 3-0) offensively. Jones capped her day with a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 7-0.
LU starter
Laura Napoli (4-6) was one of four pitchers the Cardinals used on the day. Napoli allowed one hit and four runs, all earned, in 2 1/3 innings. She walked two and struck out two.
The Cardinals return to action at 2 p.m. Tuesday when they host Eastern Kentucky in a non-conference game before heading to Houston Baptist for a three-game Southland Conference series that gets underway with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Friday and concludes with a single game at noon Saturday.
