LAS COLINAS, Texas - Mariaryeni Gutierrez remained undefeated at first singles for the Lamar University women's tennis team, but the Lady Cardinals dropped a 5-1 non-conference decision to host North Texas on Sunday.

Gutierrez improved to 14-0 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Barbora Vykydalova, but Lamar was swept in the other singles matches.

No doubles matches were played.

Lamar returns to action at 10 a.m. Saturday when it hosts Texas State in a Southland Conference match.
