Cameron Miles, who played four seasons of basketball at the University of San Diego, joined the Lamar University women’s basketball staff in October of 2016 as director of basketball operations before being appointed to assistant coach in April of 2018.
With the Cardinals, Miles is responsible for the logistics of team travel, working with the academic and compliance departments to ensure student-athlete eligibility, assisting with practice plans and scouting reports, coordinating video exchanges with opponents, assisting visiting teams with practice times and other requests and serving as a liaison with other departments within athletics and on campus.
Miles grew up in an athletic family. His sister, Ashlan, is a current member of the Lamar University women’s basketball team, while his brother C.J., a member of the Toronto Raptors, is in his 13th season in the NBA. His older sister, Andrea, played basketball at Rogers State.
Miles appeared in 114 games with the University of San Diego, netting a career-high 15 points against San Francisco. He graduated from USD with a degree in ethnic studies.
The native of Dallas, Texas, played high school basketball at Dallas Skyline High School, earning all-state honors as a senior as he averaged 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game.
He served on the coaching staff of Heroes Elite, an AAU team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
