Named Southland Conference Player of the Year, the first Cardinal to earn this award since 2010… Earned her fourth straight Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year honor and is the only SLC player to earn it four straight years… Was named AP Honorable Mention All-American… Led the nation with 192 steals, which set the NCAA single-season steals mark… Led the nation in steals per game averaging 6.2… Finished her career with 648 steals, the most steals in an NCAA Career, which was set on Feb. 27… Set school record with five triple-doubles, which was the second most in the NCAA… Became the second player in NCAA history to score 1,000 points, collect 500 rebounds, dish out 500 assists and have 500 steals in a career… Scored her 1,000th point of her career on Nov. 15 against Mississippi State…. 2015-16 SEASON:
Named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first freshman (men’s or women’s hoops) to earn the award … Earned honorable-mention all-conference status … Finished second in the nation in steals, averaging 3.97 per game … Had at least one steal in every game … Led LU with 121 assists … Second in the Southland Conference with 1,084 minutes played … Scored in double figures 17 times ... PRIOR TO LAMAR UNIVERSITY:

Born Dec. 16, 1997, in Dallas, Texas … Daughter of Stephen Smith and Felicia Barrs … Comes from an athletic family … Her mother played basketball at North Texas, while her father played football at the University of Memphis … Her brother, Devin Smith, played football at the University of Wisconsin and for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League … Enjoys music and coaching … Majoring in corporate communication at Lamar University.
