BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Matilda Samervong became the first Lamar University women's golfer to win an individual tournament title since Alessia Trebbi Tindall captured medalist honors at the Cardinal Challenge in 2023.

Samervong held off Oral Roberts' Anna Swan by two strokes to win the Lady Clerico on Tuesday at Hillcrest Country Club.

Samervong carded a final-round 73 and finished even par on the back nine to secure the victory.

She recorded three birdies and 12 pars in the final round, finishing the tournament with eight birdies and 38 pars.

Lamar University finished fifth in the eight-team field, two strokes behind third-place UT Rio Grande Valley and six strokes back of runner-up Oral Roberts.

The Cardinals finished the final round with six birdies and 49 pars.

Kamaya Moodliar recorded two birdies, making them on the fourth and 18th holes.

Siria Ballini carded one birdie and five pars on the front nine while Marta Romero Crespo added a birdie on the 16th hole.

Lamar finished the tournament with 161 pars, tying for the most in the field. The Cardinals also tied for fifth in total birdies.

Houston Christian posted the lowest team round of the day, carding a 303 to finish at 906 (301-302-303) and claim the team title by five strokes over Oral Roberts.
