Isabella Flores' Single-Season RBI Records Receive SLC Hitter of the Week Honors

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – A record-setting weekend for Lamar University freshman Isabella Flores has garnered her Southland Conference Hitter of the Week honors. This marks the first weekly award for the Wylie, Texas native and the second of the season for the Cardinals.

Flores batted .600 (6-of-10) while collecting nine RBIs over a three-game sweep of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. In Friday's first game of the doubleheader, she drove in six runs on two homers, with one being a second-inning grand slam. After two more hits in the second game, Flores ended the series with a double and a walk-off three-run homer to complete the sweep Saturday.

With 45 RBIs for the season, Flores now holds the single-season RBI record that was previously held by Shelby Henderson (2018). She also tied the single-season mark with two walk-off homers and has the school record of seven walk-off RBIs on three hits.

Entering the week, Flores ranks among the league's top 10 in just about every offensive category. She is currently tied for sixth in home runs (seven), second in RBIs (45), seventh in batting average (.402), tied for third in doubles (13), fourth in hits (49), fifth in runs (36) and third in slugging percentage (.697).

The Cardinals are currently riding a program-best 13-game win streak and will head to Waco to take on Baylor Monday. The game's first pitch takes place at 5 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
