BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University women's golf is competing at the Riverbend Intercollegiate for the 15th time in the last 16 seasons.
The tournament takes place Monday-Tuesday (March 9-10) in Sugar Land at Riverbend Country Club.
Both days feature an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
LAST TIME OUT
The Cardinals placed eighth in a 16‑team field at the West Texas Classic in Abilene.
Kamaya Moodliar recorded her first top 10 finish, tying for sixth with a two‑round total of 215 — her best 54‑hole score of the season.
LEADING THE WAY
Moodliar owns a 76.5 scoring average through 21 rounds this season and has recorded a team‑high five rounds of par or better.
She also leads the team with a 74.8 spring scoring average.
Brooke Frerichs paces the team with a 75.8 stroke average across 15 rounds while
Karolina Krasova has a 76.7 stroke average in 21 rounds.
After this week, LU will host the Lamar Cardinal Challenge from March 30-31 at Beaumont Country Club for the final regular season tournament.
RIVERBEND INTERCOLLEGIATE
LU has competed in the Riverbend Intercollegiate since the 2011 season. The Cardinals finished 12th in last year's 15‑team field.
This year's tournament features 16 teams, including Odessa College, UT Arlington, Prairie View A&M, McLennan Community College, Incarnate Word, Houston Christian, New Mexico State, Delaware, A&M–Corpus Christi, Louisville, Blinn, UT Rio Grande Valley, Tarleton State, East Texas A&M and Austin Peay.
Riverbend Country Club plays as a par 72 layout measuring 6,677 yards.
