ISABELLA JOINS THE SEVEN-RIBBY CLUB
Isabella Flores had two doubles plus a grand slam in game two against ETAMU and became the fourth Cardinal to record seven RBIs in a game, which is the most by any SLC player this season. The other three players to achieve this mark were Jenna Holland (Mar. 5, 2013), Sable Hankins (Mar. 16, 2016) and Shelby Henderson (Feb. 17, 2018). Flores is also tied for second in the conference with 31 RBIs, along with teammate
Cala Wilson.
THE WILSON BATS ARE THE BEST
Cala Wilson earned LU's first Southland Conference Hitter of the Week honor after recording a .533 batting average with eight hits, two homers and two triples. In game one of the ETAMU series, she set a career-high five RBIs on a home run and a triple. Her doubleheader performance Saturday resulted in five hits and four RBIs. She is currently among the top five in the conference in RBIs (31), doubles (10), triples (three) and home runs (seven).
EIGHT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH
LU's two run-rule victories over the weekend established a new single-season mark of eight. This breaks the previous mark of seven held by the 2015 team. Six of the wins were decided in the fifth inning.
