VICKSBURG, Miss. – Lamar University's bid for a third consecutive victory fell short Saturday following a 4-0 setback to North Alabama in Vicksburg, Miss. The Cardinals were serving for the doubles point, up 5-4, on court 2 but the Lions rallied to win the match and take the doubles point and at the same time stealing the momentum.

Maxwell Lindstedt looked to restore order and steal back some of that momentum at No. 2 singles when he forced his contest to a third set. Unfortunately, Lamar took the opening set on only one of the six courts as the Lions closed the day with straight-set decisions at courts 4, 5 and 6. The remaining singles matches were halted after UNA scored its fourth and deciding point.
Lamar will look to win the road trip when they close things out Sunday with a 10 a.m. match against Alcorn State. The match against the Braves will also take place in Vicksburg.
