BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University baseball was named a Team Academic Excellence Award winner by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
To be considered for the honor, a team must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year.
A total of 440 college programs and around 300 high school programs were recognized by the ABCA this year.
LU was one of 108 Division I programs to be honored. Two other Southland Conference programs were recognized — McNeese and UTRGV.
LU was also one of eight programs in the state of Texas to be recognized.
This is the fourth straight year that LU has received the award.
