BEAUMONT, Texas — Damian Ruiz added another postseason accolade to his list of accomplishments.

On Tuesday morning, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced its 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I All-Region teams.

Ruiz became the third Cardinal in the last four years to earn All-Region recognition as he garnered second team central All-Region honors.

This past seasons Southland Conference Hitter of the Year, Ruiz also earned first team all-conference honors.

Most recently he was named a first team All-American based on the wins above replacement metric by 6-4-3 Charts after he sported a WAR of 4.2.

Ruiz batted .388 in 56 starts with 214 at-bats, 76 runs scored, 83 hits, 22 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 46 RBIs, 50 walks, a .511 on base percentage and 14 stolen bases.

He broke the single season school record for runs scored, a mark set by Tyler Link in 2009 (73 runs scored).

In addition, Ruiz also recorded the longest hitting streak in a single season (32 games) breaking Sam Bumpers 28-game hitting streak set in 2014.

Ruiz also tied the fifth highest mark for doubles, walks and batting average in a single season.

His 49-game on base streak is the longest recorded in program history in the last 15 years, surpassing Kanin Dodge's on base streak of 33 games recorded in 2024.

Ruiz ranked in the top 10 of 10 different categories in the Southland Conference, leading the league in on base percentage, runs scored, hits and doubles.

He ended up in the top 15 nationally in on base percentage and runs scored.

Ruiz was also named a Southland Conference Hitter of the Week on Feb. 25 after going 12 for 18 (.667) during a five-game stretch with one home run, five doubles, one triple, five singles and seven RBIs.
