Lamar’s Bulajic Named Academic All-Southland Conference

| By:
FRISCO, Texas – Lamar University rising senior Janko Bulajic has been named to the 2024-25 Academic All-Southland Conference team announced league officials Friday morning. Bulajic was named to the league's second team.

To be nominated for the all-academic team, student-athletes achieve and maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average, complete one full academic semester at the nominating institution prior to the season in which the nomination occurs and be a starter or significant reserve who played in at least 50 percent of the team's games during the regular season.

Posting a 3.63 grade-point average in management information systems, Bulajic was a junior on the Cardinals' squad this past season. A key reserve, the Niksic, Montenegro native helped lead the Cardinals to a 20-win season, the No. 2 overall seed in the tournament and the program's first trip to the Southland Championship game since 2012.

The 2024-25 campaign marked LU's first 20-win season since 2018-19, and just the second since 2011-12 and only the third since 1987-88. The Cardinals also set a school record with 14 conference wins during the 2024-25 campaign.

For the season, Bulajic played in 32 games earning three starts. He averaged 2.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. During Bulajic's three years on campus the program has seen improved win totals each year going from nine in 2022-23 to 19 in 2023-24 to 20 this past year.
