HAMMOND, La. — Southeastern Louisiana flipped the script in Game 2 by evening up the series with a 4-0 victory over Lamar University on Saturday night at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
Connor O'Neal ended the scoreless tie with a leadoff solo home run to right center in the bottom of the fourth to get the Lions on the board.
Dane Watts then delivered a one-out RBI single to center to extend the lead to 2-0.
The Lions got a solo home run to left from Giovanni Licciardi in the bottom of the sixth. Logan Walters added to the inning with an RBI single up the middle, making the score 4-0.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Ruiz finished 1 for 3 with a single to extend his hitting streak to 32 games and on base streak to 49 games. Ruiz was also hit by pitch twice.
- Tab Tracy had a single to go 1 for 3 to extend his hit streak to five games.
- Zak Skinner went 2 for 4 with two singles to extend his on base streak to nine games.
- Bryce Grizzaffi tallied a single through the right side to go 1 for 4.
- Chris Olivier finished with eight strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
- Fabian Ramirez did not allow a hit or run in 2.1 innings of relief.
