BEAUMONT, Texas – After another strong season in the competition arena, Lamar University athletes are proving to be champions in the classroom as well champions in the competition arena. Lamar graduated 59 student-athletes during spring commencement over the weekend.
 
Coming on the heels of a strong graduating class for the 2023-24 academic year, the current class of graduates represents 14 different varsity sports including men's and women's cross country, soccer, volleyball, football, men's and women's basketball, women's golf, men's and women's tennis, softball, baseball and men's and women's track and field.  
 
Commencement wrapped up a busy week for the LU student-athletes as it included the stole ceremony for each graduate as well as a special graduation ceremony for the sports of baseball and men's and women's track and field who would be on the road competing during the university's commencement.
