BEAUMONT, Texas - Following a sweep of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Lamar University (21-17, 9-6 SLC) returns home for a midweek Southland Conference series against first-place Southeastern Louisiana (32-10, 12-3 SLC). Tuesday's opening doubleheader will start at 3 p.m. while Wednesday's finale takes place at 2 p.m.

LU Spotlight - Mallory Pitre
Pitre's series against Corpus Christi garnered her SLC Pitcher of the Week honors after posting a 0.84 ERA. Pitre's two wins meant she is tied for the team lead with six along with
Reagan Smith. Pitching a complete game victory in the second game of the doubleheader, Pitre struck out a season-high nine batters, which bested her previous high of seven against Indiana State. This was also her third complete game victory of the season.

Hooked on Wins
This weekend marked the third consecutive season that head coach
Amy Hooks led the Cardinals to 20 wins in a season. It's also the 10th time in program history LU has reached 20 wins in a season. The Cardinals had seven straight 20-win campaigns since their revival in 2013, which included 30+ wins in 2016 and 2017. Coach Hooks also achieved her 120th career victory over the weekend.

SLU dropped two of three to McNeese in its last series. The Lions lead the conference in most offensive categories, including batting average (.333), hits (361), RBIs (236) and stolen bases (149). Chloe Magee (.400 BA, 48 hits, 24 RBI) and Maria Detillier (.392 BA, 47 hits, 44 RBI) are fourth and fifth in the SLC in batting average, respectively, and have combined for 75 hits and 66 RBIs. In the circle, Macie Larue (13-1, 1.96 ERA) and Halie Burns (10-4, 2.01 ERA), who are second and third in ERA respectively, are the only 10-win pitchers in the conference. Larue also leads the conference in strikeouts with 88.
