BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University (18-17, 6-6 SLC) resumes Southland Conference play this weekend as it heads south to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (9-23, 3-9 SLC) for a three-game series. Friday's doubleheader starts at noon while Saturday's finale is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.

Veronica Harrison drove in two runs on two hits in a 5-1 victory to split the doubleheader. Sepulveda drew a bases-loaded walk to hand the Cardinals a walk-off 2-1 victory in the finale to claim the series.

Corpus Christi was swept by Southeastern Louisiana over the weekend to fall to 3-9 in conference play. Hitting a conference worst .231, the Islanders are led by Karisa Lopez, who is batting .269 and has a team-high seven stolen bases. Paolina Baez is the only Islander with 20 RBIs and has six doubles, a triple, and three homers, which ties the team lead along with Crystal Davila, who has a team-high 21 hits. Kendra Winfrey (4.05 ERA, 24 K's) and Malia Williams (6.33 ERA, 32 K's) each have four wins and combined for 56 strikeouts.
