FRISCO, Texas – Lamar University sophomore Stefano Chappuis and freshman Louis Drapeau have been named to the 2025 All-Southland Conference teams announced league officials Tuesday morning. Both players earned second-team honors in singles play – Chappuis at No. 5 singles and Drapeau at No. 6.
 
Chappuis led the Cardinals with 13 singles wins during the spring season posting a 13-5 (.722) mark across the Nos. 3-6 singles positions. He posted a 4-2 mark at the Nos. 5 spot on the ladder and went 3-2 (.600) in conference play.
 
Drapeau joined the roster at midyear and was one of the top newcomers in the league. Drapeau spent time at the Nos. 2-6 singles position before locking down court 6 for the Red and White. Drapeau ended the year with a 10-8 (.556) overall record which included a 3-2 (.600) record in conference play.
 
This duo will lead the Cardinals into the 2025 SLC Championships as they open play Thursday against No. 7-seed NJIT (an affiliate member of the conference). Big Red's match is set for a 2 p.m. start from the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex in Thibodaux, La.
