NATCHITOCHES, La. — It came down to the bottom of the 10th.
Northwestern State got runners at first and second for Clay Jung who hit the walk-off RBI double down the right field line to lift the Demons to a 2-1 victory over Lamar University on Friday night at Brown-Stroud Field.
Northwestern State's starting pitcher Tyler Bryan retired his first six batters in a row up until the top of the third when
Reese Beheler hit a single.
In the same inning, after being hit by a pitch,
Matt Ryan later scored on a throwing error by the second baseman to give the Cards a 1-0 lead.
The Demons tied up the game in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single to center by Colin Rains.
LU's pitching staff kept the Demons hitless for three straight innings up until the bottom of the 10th.
