BEAUMONT, Texas - As the regular season comes down to the final weeks, Lamar University (25-19) is set to begin a six-game home stretch at the LU Softball Complex. It all starts with a Tuesday non-conference doubleheader against Tarleton State (27-15) beginning at 3 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Cardinals swept Northwestern State in Natchitoches over the weekend, winning by scores of 6-2, 4-1, and 5-3. Jayne Sepulveda posted six hits in the series for the Cardinals, which included two three-hit games. Sabrina Jolin recorded a save in game two before earning her second win of the season with 5.2 innings allowing seven hits and striking out three batters.

Sepulveda added two three-hit games in the series over the Demons, which included two RBIs. She has recorded eight career three-hit games and needs three hits for 100 in her career. She also is tied for fourth all-time in triples with eight alongside Brittany Rodriguez (2016-17).

In game one of the NSU series, Harrison homered in each of her first two at-bats. This was the 12th time in program history that a two-homer game occurred. The last player to achieve this feat was Sam Bean in 2023 against Abilene Christian. Harrison is tied for ninth all-time in homers with nine along with Donna Dugas (1984-87) and Shelby Henderson (2017-18).
