BEAUMONT, Texas - Currently in sixth place in the Southland Conference standings and two games behind UIW, Stephen F. Austin, and Nicholls for third, Lamar University (22-19, 10-8 SLC) heads out to Natchitoches, La., for a three-game Southland Conference series against Northwestern State (5-36, 2-16 SLC) at Lady Demon Diamond this weekend. Friday's doubleheader starts at 4 p.m., while Saturday's finale has the first pitch to be delivered at noon. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.

LU Spotlight - Kaylee Cuevas
Cuevas (Teague, Texas) held the Lions scoreless for 5.2 innings in game three of the series and struck out two batters while receiving a no decision. Since the first inning of her start against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, she has recorded 11.2 scoreless innings, allowing six hits and three strikeouts. Cuevas has also dropped her ERA down nearly five points to 4.70.

LU Spotlight - Jayne Sepulveda
Sepulveda recorded three hits in Friday's first game of the doubleheader with SLU. This was the sixth time in her career and fourth time this season that she posted three hits in a game. She's also tied for fourth all-time in program history with eight triples.

Northwestern State snapped a six-game losing streak to UIW by winning 4-3 on Wednesday. Sophia Livers recorded a team-high two hits and an RBI while starter Brooklyn Stohler posted a complete game victory in the circle. Livers leads the team with 32 hits while Aly Delafield (.310) is on top of the team's batting average leaderboard. Stohler has appeared in 129 innings and struck out 48 batters while recording a 5.70 ERA.
