BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University (15-12) looks to return to the win column after its last series against Stephen F. Austin. The Cardinals are heading to Houston (16-8) to take on the Cougars in a midweek contest Tuesday at the Cougar Softball Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 6 p.m.

LU dropped two of three against the Ladyjacks over the weekend. The Cardinals won game one 4-1 thanks to a complete game from Reagan Smith while Veronica Harrison posted three hits, including a two-run homer. LU came within an out of taking the series in game two before the Ladyjacks rallied to win 5-4. SFA then won the series 8-4 in the third game.

The Cougars are 16-8 after dropping their lone game to Oklahoma State in Stillwater Sunday. Offensively, Brooke Wells leads the team in hits (29), RBIs (30), and HR (seven). Jordee Wilkins has a team-high .397 batting average and seven doubles. Gigi Solis (3.85 ERA), Maddie Hartley, and Rylee Michalak (19 strikeouts) have three wins in the circle while Nevaeh Brown leads the pitching staff with four.
