BEAUMONT, Texas — Due to the impending weather, the game times for Lamar University's home opener against North Dakota State have been changed.
Game 1 will now start at 11:05 a.m. while Game 2 is set to have a 2:05 p.m. start time.
The Cardinals have a busy stretch, playing nine games over a course of 10 days.
BISON AT A GLANCE
North Dakota State opened its season against No. 20 Dallas Baptist.
The Bison were swept in a three-game series.
Junior infielder Davis Hamilton went 3 for 7 (.429) in the series with two singles, a double and two RBIs.
Led by fourth-year head coach Tyler Oakes, who enters his 12th year overall in the program, the Bison are trying to trend back up after finishing last spring 20-30-1 overall and 14-12-1 in Summit League play.
Oakes led North Dakota State to a 42-19 overall record and a Summit League tournament title as well as a spot in the Stanford regional in 2021.
The Bison were the Summit League regular season champions back in 2022 with an overall record of 31-19 (17-5).
North Dakota State was picked to finish fourth in the Summit League this season while it had two players listed on the preseason watch list.
Sophomore infielder Jake Schaffner, who earned All-Summit League first team honors last season, led the team with a .337 average, 64 hits and a .436 on-base percentage.
Redshirt junior and lefthanded pitcher Nolan Johnson wrapped last season with a team-leading 2.73 ERA in 26.1 innings.
North Dakota State's first eight games of the season are being played in Texas.

Since 2005, North Dakota State is 12-26 against programs from the state of Texas.
The Bison did not play a Texas school in 2024 after making back-to-back trips in 2022 and 2023.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Lamar University is 7-4 against the Bison since the first meeting in 2010.
North Dakota State took three out of four from the Cardinals in 2016. The Bison have won the last three meetings after LU won seven of the last eight.

The Cardinals posted a 24-4 home record in 2024, the third best in program history, tied with 12-2 that was recorded in 1970.

WALK IT OUT
The Cardinals drew 30 walks during their season opener in California, which is currently tied for fifth in NCAA Division I with Georgia and High Point.
KEEPING TABS
Tab Tracy leads the offense with a .714 average after he collected five hits, including one double, four RBIs and two walks.
He went 2 for 2 with two singles and four RBIs in the series finale.
SOLID PITCHING
The three LU starters put together a collective ERA of 2.06 over the weekend.
