DALLAS, Texas – Lamar University traveled north to Dallas Thursday to take on the SMU Mustangs but things didn't go LU's way. The Cardinals dropped a 7-0 decision to SMU.

Savannah Bijlsma tried to stem the tide with her battle at No. 5 singles. Biljsma put up a strong fight against the Mustangs' June Bjork but in the end Bjork held on for a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
The Cardinals (2-2) will look to get back in the win column Saturday, Feb. 8, when they return home to host UTSA. The match against the Roadrunners will begin at 11 a.m. from the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
