Baseball 2025 Schedule Released

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University released its 56-game 2025 baseball schedule that features 31 home games.

Big Red also has 26 non-conference games on the slate that includes midweek matchups with Rice, Tulane, Texas, Louisiana Tech, Texas A&M and Houston, to name a few.

"With the success that we've had this decade, scheduling has certainly become a challenge," said eighth-year head coach Will Davis. "Filling a schedule that is competitive prepares our team accordingly while providing plenty of opportunities for our large and rapidly growing fan base to see us in action."

The Cardinals open the season on the west coast against CSU Bakersfield for a three-game series beginning Friday, Feb. 14.

Big Red will then return to Beaumont for six games which includes a home-opening two-game series with North Dakota State (Feb. 18-19), Albany for three games (Feb. 21-23) and Oakland for a single game (Feb. 24).

Southland Conference play opens on Friday, Feb. 28 on the road against UTRGV, which is part of a five-game road trip that also includes a pair of single games with Rice and Louisiana Tech.

The Cardinals make their way back to Vincent-Beck Stadium for a five-game home stand beginning Friday, March 7 with a three-game set against Stephen F. Austin and then a two-game series with New Mexico State.

The Battle at the Border series with McNeese State takes place Friday, March 14 to Sunday, March 16 in Lake Charles.

Beginning in April, Big Red has a six-game home stand that starts with a three-game series against UT Arlington on Friday, April 4.

The Cardinals then take on Texas Southern and Arkansas – Pine Bluff for a pair of single games before finishing up the home stand with a three-game series against Nicholls State.

"We still feel like we were able to put together a good schedule by introducing  some new opponents who were a little outside of our region," Davis added.

Lamar has 12 home games in the month of April which also includes a single game with Prairie View A&M (April 23) and a three-game series against New Orleans (April 25-27).

Big Red closes out April with a road trip to College Station to take on Texas A&M on Tuesday, April 29.

To close out the season in May, the Cardinals have a three-game road series with Southeastern Louisiana (May 2-4) before heading to Austin for one game against Texas on Tuesday, May 6.

The Cardinals host Houston Christian for the final home stand May 8-10.
