NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Lamar University carried a 2-1 lead into the bottom half of the third inning, but two batters into the home half Mother Nature decided she wasn't a baseball fan Sunday allowing the rains to come back and wash out the final game of the series. Since the teams only completed 2.5 innings it was not an official game and none of today's stats will be counted.
Originally scheduled as three-game series, Lamar and Stephen F. Austin only played the Saturday game as Friday's contest was also washed out.
The Cards (28-21) will have to quickly hit the reset button as they host UT Rio Grande Valley Tuesday evening for their final non-conference matchup of the season. Tuesday's game against the Vaqueros is slated to begin at 6 p.m. from Vincent-Beck Stadium.
