AUSTIN, Texas - On the final day of the Texas Relays hosted by the University of Texas, only one member of the Lamar Cardinals track and field squad would compete and sought to put himself among the nation's best. Competing in the long jump was last year's All-American
Kenson Tate.
Tate would have three jumps in the long jump. His first jump was recorded at 6.73m (22'1") while his second jump would be 4.32m (14'2.25"). Although Tate would match his first jump total on his third attempt, it wasn't enough to make the cut and get more jumps as he finished 18th overall.
The Cardinals will return to the University of Houston for the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational beginning this coming Friday.
