BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar's softball team will compete in their fourth and final tournament of the 2023 season before they get set for Southland Conference play. This time, LU will travel to Arlington to meet with the Mavericks of UT-Arlington along with Rider University and Missouri-Kansas City.

The Cardinals traveled to Stephenville, Texas to meet up with Tarleton one one-game showdown against the Texans. While
Hayley Freudenberg drove in two RBI on three hits, it wasn't enough as the Cardinals fell 8-4 to the Texans.
RUIZ STRIKEOUT UPDATE
Aaliyah Ruiz made an appearance allowing one hitless inning, which included career strikeout #271. She needs five more strikeouts to break the all-time strikeout record in program history.

The Broncs have only played in five games as their season started last weekend and they are currently 2-3. In those five games, Jessie Niegocki batted .533 (8-of-15) with one double and four RBI. Amanda Cooper hit RU's first homer of the season against Wagner. Fallyn Stoeckel won two games in the circle going 12.1 innings allowing four runs on nine hits with nine strikeouts and posting a 1.14 ERA.

The Roos are 3-10 and in the midst of a five-game skid entering Friday's meeting with Big Red. But, they do have six players already with 10 or more hits led by Lexy Smith, who leads with 14. Ally Vonfeldt has a team-high .342 batting average with four doubles while she has 13 hits along with Kiki McCrea and Sydney Nichols. Katie Noble and Katherine Karnatz have 11 and 10 hits respectively. In 34.2 innings, Camryn Stickel has pitched two complete games with 28 strikeouts and has one of the team's three wins this season in the circle.

The Mavericks are 6-9 following an 8-0 shutout loss to #10 Baylor in Waco. Paris Brienesse has a team-best 12 hits and a .429 batting average along with six stolen bases. Sophie Wideman (10 hits) and Kimber Cortemelia (11 hits) have driven in eight RBI on the season. Jessica Adams leads the UTA pitching staff with two complete games, three wins, 16 strikeouts, 44.2 innings pitched and a 2.51 ERA in the circle.
